App looks great but the restaurant I go to didnt seem to understand it and their receipts dont have bar codes to scan
The staff is wonderful, and the food is always great!
The APp is cool! It allows you order and keeps track of your spending! The app gives you alerts and special treats every now and again. Side note!!! If you ever visit Cafe RIO in California...Crystal at the Valencia, CA location is amazing! She should get manager of the year! Hands down the best to lead her cafe rio crew.

I so want to give this some love, but alas, it is not worthy... Whats right? Not much, it offers a way to order from mobile, BUT... Whats not right? Before getting started, understand there are two accounts, one is rewards, the other is ordering. They are separate accounts. The app does not seem to store logins correct, so expect to manually login each time. Apple Pay integration? NOPE! When you go to pay for your order in the app, you will be prompted again for your password. In short, it would appear the corporate lawyers had total control over the app, no user friendliness here! OK, so you got past all of the above, and arrive at the cafe to pick up your order. The store is mildly busy and when the cashier asks for your name, goes to a terminal in the back to pull off your order and make it for you... this after waiting 30 minutes from order to pickup. I would guess many stores are not fully prepared for this modern technology. The food is fine, not the best but sure beats Taco Bell...
Doesnt work well at all. Accumulated several rewards only to find out the store that hooked me up to the app wont take them. Dont bother with this waste of space on your phone!
Worthless app. Doesnt matter my cellular reception or wifi signal, it gives the error "cant connect to server" and wont let me sign in, scan receipts or accrue points. After battling this for several months, uninstalling and reinstalling app, trying on another phone, asking for assistance from store and customer service line, I finally gave up, and started going across the parking lot to Costa Vida instead of cafe rio. They have the same food and a working rewards app.
Come on you guys...its been nearly 2 years since Apple introduced the larger screen phones, in which youve released a number of updates. Hopefully Apple enforces support of the bigger phones to ship an update.
First off and really the biggest issue is that we have lost a lot of value with losing the punch card. Dont use points, just use digital punches.... I want my punches not a dollar equivalent. Its no fun. Why dont you just say, get 10% cash back in points! Thats basically what you are saying. Also the app doesnt function great.. Pros- I can go to costa vita now because I only went to cafe rio for the punch cards.
Is you go to CR with any kind of regularity, the app is useful. Scans receipts very quickly to collect those points, and CR really has a fairly generous points program. The apps ordering menu is waaay more comprehensive than whats in the stores. For example, I never knew I could get salsa fresca free alongside a burrito! Likewise makes costs of other add-ons clear. Weaknesses: - making special orders is hard. Well, kludgey & unobvious. - if making an order, DO NOT LEAVE the app until you have COMPLETED CHECKOUT!! if you leave the app—even momentarily—the app forgets your order, so youre back to 0. Really lame feature here. - On pick-up, you need to double-check even standard orders to make sure you get what you ordered. Its not like they try to shortchange you, the staff just misreads whats ordered some large minority of the times.
Every I attempt to use this app, it informs me that it cannot connect to the server. I can never scan receipts or order items. Useless.
Okay, maybe I cant say greatest cause well, Ive only had one item from them. But I have had it many times because its just that amazing. Amazing food, amazing service (sometimes), amazing everything. - Jess :)

I take my family to Cafe Rio much more often now that I can order ahead but the app needs a lot more work. Great to be able to order ahead since ordering at the store can take 1/2 hour when busy and they always make errors. However app will never allow order pick up in less than 30-45 minutes even if the store is empty. Cant find a way to repeat a previous order even though theres a way to mark the order as a favorite. Really slow to re-enter an order for 4 people every time and then have to wait 30 more minutes to pick it up. Yes, can go to the store earlier but they have never started making the order yet even when empty. So far Ive used it 4x and there has been an error in what I received every time. Should also be an option for in-store dining instead of takeout. ApplePay would be much faster and more secure since I no longer trust companies to protect saved credit card info. Great start. Id use it and eat at Cafe Rio more often if I didnt have to plan an hour ahead to use this app to order.
Tried ordering with the app several times and when we would try to finalize the order it would kick us out and erase the entire order. It also sets the pickup time as 30 minutes or scheduled instead of putting your order in line to be done. It needs a lot of work.
As with other comments they bring up some valid issues and Id find addressing issues with ordering through the app would be helpful, with waiting times & kids and all. Keep working on it, Ill keep using & enjoying the food
Every time I order online, they never have the food ready and cant seem to find the order. I really hate the 400 south location, the service is terrible (although there are a few gem employees but those are usually the cleaning or bottom-tier staff! Promote them!). The app doesnt even work! I asked the employee why it was such a problem and he said, "we dont have the app." NOT using the app again!
You have to scan the barcode on each receipt to get points for your orders even though you order from the app. Then what is the point of having the rewards and an app? Im not given a receipt every time, so I cant get points. Ive easily passed the 100 points and wont get them because I didnt get a receipt. Terrible app.
